Privacy Notice

We encourage you to read this Privacy Notice in full. You can jump to a section using the links below.

What does URLIN do?

URLIN (urlin.co) is a free bio link directory. We help visitors discover public profile pages for creators, brands, and websites, and we help publishers share a clean directory card that links to their official link-in-bio or website (for example Linktree, Instagram, TikTok, or a personal site).

When you browse URLIN, you can search the directory, open profile pages, and click through to external destinations chosen by each publisher. When you publish a listing, you submit information that we display publicly on your profile page at urlin.co/yourname.

In this Privacy Notice, we refer to our website and related services collectively as the URLIN Services. Public profile pages created through URLIN are referred to as Profile Pages. Profile Pages are public by default and may be indexed by search engines.

How does this Privacy Notice apply to me?

This Privacy Notice applies to personal information URLIN collects about:

  • visitors who browse, search, or interact with URLIN or Profile Pages;
  • individuals who submit a profile or link listing through our publish form;
  • individuals who contact us through our contact page or support channels; and
  • individuals who interact with optional advertising shown on URLIN.

When you click a button on a Profile Page (such as "Visit original link"), you leave URLIN and visit a third-party website. That site is controlled by the publisher or platform operator, not URLIN.

Third-party links and responsibilities

Profile Pages link to external websites and platforms. URLIN does not control how those third parties collect, use, or share your information once you leave our site.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any website you visit through a Profile Page. If you have concerns about how a third party handles your information, please contact that third party directly.

URLIN is part of a network of related directory sites listed in our footer. Those sites operate independently and have their own privacy practices.

Information we collect

The personal information we may collect broadly falls into the following categories:

1. Information you provide voluntarily

Profile and listing information: When you publish a link, we may collect your display name, description, original URL, URLIN slug, category, optional profile image, and any optional contact details you submit.

Communications: If you contact us, we collect the information you send (such as your name, email address, and message content) so we can respond.

2. Information we collect automatically

Usage and technical data: We collect information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and standard server logs. We use this to operate the service, prevent abuse, measure traffic, and improve URLIN.

Profile view counts: We count views on Profile Pages to show public statistics on listings.

3. Information from third parties

We may display profile images or metadata sourced from public link-in-bio pages (for example Open Graph images from Linktree) when publishers provide those URLs. We do not receive your private account credentials from those platforms.

How we use the information we collect

We use personal information to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve URLIN;
  • display public Profile Pages in the directory;
  • process and moderate submissions, prevent spam, and enforce our terms;
  • respond to support requests and legal notices;
  • show optional advertising through partners such as Google AdSense, where enabled;
  • comply with applicable law and protect the security of our users and platform.

We do not sell your personal information.

Children's data

URLIN is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

How and when we share information

We may share information in these situations:

  • Public display: Information you submit for a Profile Page is published publicly by design.
  • Service providers: We use hosting, security, analytics, and advertising providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of URLIN and its users.
  • Business transfers: If URLIN is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

Cookies and similar technologies

URLIN uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic, prevent abuse, and (where enabled) serve advertising.

Google AdSense and other advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more at Google's advertising policies and manage ad personalization at adsettings.google.com.

See also our Terms of use and contact us if you have questions about cookies.

How long we retain information

We retain profile listing information for as long as your Profile Page remains published, unless you request removal or we remove it for policy or legal reasons. Server logs and security records are kept for a limited period appropriate for operations and abuse prevention. Contact messages are retained as long as needed to handle your request.

How we secure your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to processing and request portability.

To update or remove a public listing, contact us via the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time. EU/UK and other regional privacy laws may provide additional rights — contact us to exercise them.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of URLIN after changes means you accept the updated notice.
